Silk Embroidered Tapestry Vintage Handbag by bienen-davis, C. 1940's
Silk floss (thread) is embroidered on to form the tapestry paisley pattern on this warm and rich handbag by bienen-davis. The handle and trim on the hinged frame are of creamy leather. Inside, the bag is fully lined in champagne silk satin with three stacked slit pockets on one side and a larger slit pocket on the other side.
Condition: Excellent. The threads on the edge of the purse are lighter in color probably due to their location and the texture in these areas is less pronounced. The interior lining shows some use with a few spots.
Measurements: 10" wide, 7" high not including handle, 2" deep, handle is 6" high.
