Fire Engine Red Wool Cuddle Coat - c. 1970's - Cuddle Coat, New York

Victor Joris, the creative talent behind Cuddlecoat, actually won the Coty Fashion Critics Award in 1969. This totally awesome mod bright red Cuddlecoat is certainly no exception, no need to embelish here, worn with something simple, could just 'make' the outfit. A wide plush collar encircles the neck, closing on the left side with hidden snaps to line up and match with the hidden snaps that extend a-symmetrically down the front left side. The dropped waistline is accentuated with a matching fabric belt and the silhouette is slightly A-Line, dropping straight from the shoulders, flaring just below the knee. A rare vintage find of great style and design, this coat requires no help from accessories or from whatever you've got going on underneath. Screaming for attention, it should be the focal point, so let it. Fully lined in red satin, the label inside reads, "Cuddlecoat, New York".
