1933 Julius Garfinckel Silk Velvet Evening Coat with Fur Collar/Cuffs Poet Sleeves
Marked with a '1933 Copyright' label and Julius Garfinckel, this silk velvet fur trimmed evening coat is stunning. The color is a burnt orange rust with a (synthetic, doesn't feel silk but it could be due to the age) lining that matches the outside of the coat. The collar and cuffs of the poet sleeves are trimmed in a silky soft and plush fur (I don't know what type). Luxuriously regal coat.
The coat wraps and closes at the neckline at both shoulders, one side with a button and the other with a hidden snap. One thing to note, the cuffs on this vintage coat are very very small so you have to work them over your hands.
Condition: Good. Needs a dry cleaning to clear up some spotting from moisture that has ocurred in the lining The exterior is really very good, some very small/tiny areas where the velvet has rested against something and created uneven look or texture, not at all as bad as this is sounding. There is a tear on the underside of the fur collar where it attaches to the coat probably from weight. Without attention to these details, the coat is still wearable, tending to the details puts it over the top.
