Romantic Ecru Hand Crocheted Vintage Dress, Lim's China
From Lim's in China, this lovely romantic hand crocheted vintage dress is elegant and stunning. The variety of so many different stitches is used to define the various aspects of this dress from the raised collar and bodice, both stitched with a linear open weave, to the spectacular sleeves which are designed with florettes, down to the skirt fashioned of alternating 'panels' of florettes, linear open weave and linking chain stitch. The 'lower skirt' is something to behold with 'patches' of hand stitched flowers, and 'buds' that are set on the angle forming diamond shapes and finished at the hem which ends with an open weave or web of linked knots. While there is most certainly a dictionary of crochet terms to describe each stitch that went into this vintage work of art, what I can say is the quality and craftsmanship are absolutely outstanding as I am sure this took hours and days to make. When it makes its way to your vintage closet, wear this with any color underdress/slip and boots in the fall, or bare foot on the beach in the summer; it is lovely and romantic, understated and sophisticated, you will love wearing it in every season, it will become the thing you reach for when you need to look great in a hurry.
