Timeless Dusty Blue Heavy Crochet Vintage Sweater Dress
I'll admit as a collector and seller of vintage clothing, that some items are not always easy to fit; admittedly you must know your body type and measurements and when you do find a 'match', it's a beautiful thing. Well, with knit dressing, the 'fit' perameters are almost removed because of the stretch and 'give' in the knit itself. You don't have to meet exacting measurements and that is a wonderful thing. So here I bring you a luscious heavy knit dusty blue vintage sweater dress/tunic. The other thing I love about knit dressing is the flexibility these lovely garments provide as you can pair them with just about anything; we like this one over tights with boots. This masterpiece appears to be hand knit, there are no seams, it's like one continuous strand of yarn knit into this masterpiece with lovely covered buttons down the back. All edges are scalloped; the collar, the opening, the hem. And when I say no seams, I mean NO seams; each feature, from the bodice to the sleeves through the waistline and down the length of the skirt is set apart in the style of stitch from which each is made, these then come together in seamless unity as one blends into the next until slowly but surely, stitch by stitch, you have a dress. The skirt is of a different 'pattern' than the body and the waist is nipped in naturally with a tighter stitch, the same concept applies to the sleeves as they taper down the forearm with a tighter knit for a snug fit toward and at the wrist,......the photos will help to show what I have described. I hesitate to even let this one go, I must be crazy!
