Bright Shiny Neon Pastel Lame with Fur Trim Dress, Romantica by Victor Costa, C. 1960's
The colors in this eye-catching vintage dress are neon pastels of pink, blue, yellow and orange, all on a field of eggshell....then some gold and silver lame is woven in as if the neon isn't enough and let me tell you, it works. I absolutely love the white faux fur trim at the neckline and cuffs, it's one of those things I actually look for when shopping for vintage clothing, or contemporary pieces for that matter, finished or embellished hemlines, necklines and/or cuffs. Why? Because I think it completes the dress and not in that 'you complete me' sappy way but in the attention to detail and unique quality that we vintage nut cases seek out. It puts a smile on my face just looking at it....imagine how much fun it is to wear!
One minor issue (unless you like intact labels), the label has been cut out of the dress but enough of it remains to see that is a Romantica by Victor Costa .
Condition: Very Good. The dress has a few minor spots which have been spot cleaned. The fabric is so vibrant and busy that these spots don't present themselves to the world as it's worn. Nonetheless, we've accounted for these imperfections in the price. One of the spots is detectable on the close-up image of the fur, it's an orange dot in the blue swirl.
Measurements: Bust 39", Waist 38", HIps 39", Sleeve Length 22", Dress Length 37". The cut of the dress is straight.
