1960's Hourglass Little Black Beaded and Sequined Dress, Cinch Waist Straight Skirt
What a little lovely. The perfect 'little black dress', made of a silky crepe that drapes beautifully yet is fitted to hug the body and adorned to perfection with small black sequins and bugle beads. I love the design of the beading, like delicate bundles of wheat nipped in at their centers to mimic the slender shape of the wearer's silhouette. I also love it when design elements are used to accentuate the shape of the woman's body, in this case the placement of the beading. The same beading also trims the neckline following the gentle curve around the dress as it scoops down in the back, oh so feminine. The dress is lined and zips up the back. It is a sweet dress that flatters the figure and will go anywhere just about any time of year.
