1950’s Egyptian Print Shirtwaist Dress

Unique Egyptian Print cotton in earthy green and brown tones, rounded neckline, cuffed short sleeves, gathered waistline and button-down front, epitomize the 50’s shirtwaist look. I especially like the details in the sewing; nice darts in the front and back, a hook and eye closure at the waist to eliminate gaps and the cuff endings that give the illusion of a separate band around the top edging due to the placement of the design in the fabric, very clever. The skirt is quite full, gathered all the way around and fashioned from one piece of fabric, thus eliminating any seams. I like it with a large brown leather belt to accentuate the slim waist. Made for the petite figure, this dress was sewn by a very skilled seamstress, and provides a 6” seam allowance in the hem.

Condition: Excellent.
Measurements: Bust 37”, Waist 24 1/2”, Length 37” from shoulder to bottom of hem. The back bodice measures 151/2 from neck to waist. The hem is 6” deep, which could possibly be let down.
