1960's Vintage Silk Cocktail Dress CELESTIAL Starburst Galaxy of Embroidery, Rhinestones and Pearls
Pink and Green shimmery ribbons wind their way through the embroidered starburst galaxy of white embroidered and beaded rays that burst from the large rhinestone and seed pearl stars on this amazing 1960's aqua silk fitted cocktail dress. The fitted bodice has cap sleeves and a shallow rounded neckline. The skirt is pleated all the way around. The fabric, so celestial, you will shine in this one!
The dress is fully lined and zips up the rear with a nylon zipper. The labels in the dress are, Sabina of India, 100% Silk, Bergdorf Goodman.
We upcycled this one from a maxi to rid it of some larger stains. We also replaced its long sleeves with the cap sleeves that we reworked from the fabric. Amazing but imperfect dress.
Condition: Very Good/Not Perfect but we love it. You can see in the last image the issue, there are some light yellowish spots on the rear in two areas; one is under the white starburst, underneath the bottom of the white 'bursts', the other area is furhter down near the pink lame ribbon. The bottom area could possibly be hemmed away if the dress were shortened to a micro mini depending on your height. The spots are visible but they are light and with the busy emroidery and beading, aren't glaringly present.....but, if you need perfect, no spots, this is not your dress.
