Bonney’s Best – Dazzling Champagne Organza Formal/Party Dress - c. 1950’s

I named this dress for the wearer whose hand made identification label from Vermont College appears inside. The sheen of the organza that makes up this ravishing party dress rivals the color and luster of a pearl. The fabric drapes ever so softly over the bodice in tiny pleat-like gathers extending diagonally from each shoulder to the waist, and meeting with a small bow over the left breast to form a ‘V’ shaped neck line. These gathers continue also around the cap sleeves. The dress is full with three layers consisting of a tulle crinoline, taffeta lining and organza overskirt. The dress has a rear zipper and is accented with a petite bow at the small of the back. I love this dress. It is classic in design combining sweetness and elegance with a bit of fun and flare!
