1940's Navy Polka Dot Dress Full Swing Skirt Covered Buttons Bodice Vintage Secretary Dress, Best&Co
This Vintage 1940's Silk Fitted Secretary Day Dress is exquisite! The bodice is fashioned with a tiny collar around the back of the neck that leads into the open 'v' in front. Twenty tiny covered buttons (not working, the bodice is closed) extend down the bodice and end in a 'V' at drop waist level to offset the matching 'V' at the neck. The bodice is double pleated on each side for a totally fitted and flattering look in the top. The 3/4 length sleeves are dolman style for comfort and add slight fullness in the bust. Now, for the skirt, just look at the pleates.....double box pleats create perfect gathers around the circumference of the skirt which is made full with one layer of tulle underneath.
The dress zips up the side with a metal zipper and has a Best & Company, Fifth Ave, New York, label.
