1970s/80s Platinum Lace Beaded Sequins Vintage Gatsby Mermaid Maxi Dress Evening Gown Size M/L
Elegant Vintage Bugle Beads and Sequins on Platinum Mesh and Lace Drop-Waist Drop-Dead Gorgeous Flapper Style Column Mermaid Dress. This one is great for a Gatsby or Twenties Party. The bodice, cut straight, is heavily beaded around each flower petal with clear bugle beads and further embellished with silver sequins. At about hip level, sequins are stitched in a chevron pattern to define the drop-waist and from here the mermaid skirt lets loose in a full sweep of beautifully sequined splendor ending in a scallop hem trimmed in bugle beads. GORGEOUS by Scala.
Scala label inside. Dress is 100% Rayon, Made in India. The dress is not lined, sheer and pulls on over the head with one hook and eye closure at the back of the neck. You could choose a slip of any length really, if you go short the sheerness below the hem of the slip would show beautifully.
We actually up cycled this one by removing the sleeves and shoulder pads. You can see on the side images that the arms are cut very deep. You could leave it this way and wear it with a beautiful slip that would show or take the armholes in with a few stitches. One other thing to note, one of the armholes is more beaded around the edge than the other.
